Growing Chicks

Chickens require a nutritious diet  to be healthy and productive. There are several different types of feed that will be appropriate for different ages and uses of chickens. Some manufacturers recommend starter feed for 4 weeks before moving onto grower;

whole others combine both together in a "starter/grower" feed that can last beyond 16 weeks.

Feeding your chickens a small amounts of vegetable or dairy product should be fine for the growing chickens, and the same goes with bugs and worms. These however should be considered as treats for your chickens and not the main course. Starter feeds contain everything chicks need to survive and thrive, and filling them up with too many treats can throw off their nutritional balance.

Give your chickens access to as much food as they want and don't ration it. Chickens self-regulate food rations. Some breeds of chickens can lay an egg nearly every day. These chickens need a highly nutritional diet More Chicken Feed Mixed Feed Pasture Feed Chicken Feed Commercial Feed Chicken Feeders Feed Chick Growing Chick Breeding Chicken Feeders Feed What Not to Feed Home US
